The Proposed Route

The adventure leaves from the vibrant city of San Francisco and heads towards Yosemite National Park and then south to the infamous Death Valley. After cycling through the Nevada desert, i will hit the flashing lights of Las Vagas and gamble my money away. The next highlights will be the Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon and then the state of New Mexico. From here the route is a little vague but i will be cruising through Texas, Louisiana, Alabama and Florida.

For me to complete this trip in time for Christmas and avoiding the snow(!) i will have to cycle approx 70-100 miles a day. Also, I have only just found out there are mountain passes as high as 3,343m that i have to cross!

I plan to update this blog as frequently as possible and feel free to leave any comments, although there are children following this blog so keep it clean!

Goodbye for now

Kris, nice that you had a chance meeting with my sister...at the ranch in Greeley Hill, CA.......sounds like a great adventure...A LOT of leg lifting!!!
If that was your first time as Yosemite...that must have been something to view the sheer grandeur.
I have never stopped being ermotionally affected by the wonder of it all.
Anne may have told you that my grandfather rode horseback into Yosemite with John Muir. John used to bring sheep up from the valley in the summer time and take them into the high country and Yosemite. He used to bring them thru that pass, before you drop down to the ranch, and then across the big meadow which is now sadly bordered by all those trees along the road.
I'll try to tune into your blog from time to time.
